A CHARITY which helps clean up the River Thames is offering training for people hoping to boost their job prospects.
Thames 21 is running a free Waterway Champions programme for 16 to 25-year-olds who have been the hardest hit by job shortages to help them develop leadership and management skills.
They will learn how to promote, and run river clean up days such as the ones the charity runs every year cleaning up litter washed up onto on the foreshore off Millwall.
And they will be shown how to take charge of risk assessments and health and safety responsibilities.
The next training days are at Creekside in Deptford from 11am to 4pm on Tuesday August 25 and at Walbrook Wharf in Upper Thames Street in the City on Thursday September 3 from 11am to 4pm.
