Youngsters from Cubitt Town Infant and Junior schools have unleashed their creativity on Tower Hamlets.

Their colourful artwork, which celebrates art and enterprise in the area, can be seen at the Community Window Gallery in Jubilee Walk.

The various works include hand-painted silk banners made by the children together with their parents.

The project is part of the “Learn Some Teach Some” programme which encourages carers and parents to get involved with the school’s curriculum by delivering creative workshops.

Jacqui Jenkins, parent liaison co-ordinator, said: “We run projects five days a week for parents to support their children’s learning and we were looking for a project that could take them one step further.

“We think that the parents are the children’s first educators and believe that working with them is very important, not only for the children to develop their skills but for the parents as well.”

The display is on until next month.
