There are eleven candidates contesting Bethnal Green and Bow and ten in Poplar and Limehouse.
The candidates in Bethnal Green and Bow are Rushanara Ali (Labour), Farid Bakht (Green), Patrick Brooks (Independent), Haji Mahmood Choudhury (Independent), Hasib Hikmat (United Voice) , Zakir Khan (Conservative), Ahmed Malik (Independent), Jeffrey Marshall (British National Party), Ajmal Masroor (Liberal Democrat), Abjol Miah (Respect), Alexander van Terheyden (Pirate Party of the United Kingdom).
In Poplar and Limehouse the line up is Tim Archer (Conservative), Jim Fitzpatrick (Labour), Jonathan Fryer (Liberal Democrat), George Galloway (Respect), Mohammed Hoque (Independent), Wayne Lochner (UK Independence Party), Kabir Mahmud (Independent), Andrew Osborne (English Democrats - "Putting England First!"), Chris Smith (Green), Jim Thornton (Independent).
