KIDS were getting down to the serious business of having fun at their children's centre in London's East End while their mums and dads were busy checking out what family support services were available.
They enjoyed balloon modelling and lots and lots of bubbles and a bouncy castle at the family fun day at Whitechapel's Montefiore Children's centre, part of a national campaign to highlight services offered to parents of the under-fives.
Tower Hamlets has 21 Sure Start children's centres, which provide 'early years' opportunities so that youngsters living in the deprived East End have a flying start to their lives.
