The new Bow Secondary campus on the banks of the Lea River in east London is flooded in A*s and As in only its second year of GCSE results.
One-in-five Bow pupils got at least three A* or A grades today.
“So many of our pupils have done really well,” a beaming head teacher Cath Smith said. “They are already enrolled for the sixth form and the A-Level courses of their choice.”
Top achiever is Ariq Rahman, who clocked up five A* grades and four As.
William Evans got eight As and Saif Ahammad two A*s and five As, while both Mohammed Malik and Azizur Rahman each got an A* and six As.
The GCSE success follows on the back of the school’s first-ever A-Level results last week when 38 per cent won places at top Russell Group universities such as east London’s own Queen Mary’s as well as UCL, Manchester and Exeter.
