Pupils from Mulberry School for Girls were left jumping for joy today, with more than 60 per cent of them getting five A*-B grades in their GCSEs.

Among the highlights in an improved batch of results is the fact that more than 30 per cent of students got A* or A grades in their English exams.

So it is no surprise that pupils at the school, in Commercial Road, Shadwell, were delighted when they opened their results.

Headteacher Dr Vanessa Ogden said: “We would like to congratulate all of our students and all the students’ parents and families for the fantastic GCSE results they that have had this year.

“It’s a great testament to their hard work, determination and ambition. Every child is doing so well, regardless of their starting point, she added.
