A university graduates’ online social network has been set up by academics in London’s East End for researchers around the world to take part in debates and joint projects.
Users can now collaborate on projects or funding bids and access research on social innovation, allowing academics, practitioners and policy makers in social enterprises and businesses to be connected globally.
“There’s growing recognition in Europe that social innovation has a crucial role in economic development,” said network director Dr Colin Combe. “This is a valuable resource that has potential to galvanise social innovation to build a brighter future.”
The launch at an international conference held at the Glasgow Caledonian University’s London campus at Spitalfields was attended by innovators from the Continent, including the Spanish Sinnergiak centre’s renowned communications director Itziar Iraola and others from Ireland, France and Portugal.
