VOLUNTEERS got together to celebrate 40 years of community work in Poplar.
BBC newsreader George Alagiah joined the party and presented Sister Christine Frost with a huge bouquet of flowers for her work with Neighbours in Poplar over the last four decades.
Past and present volunteers joined the fun at St Matthias Community Centre in Poplar High Street.
Volunteers help befriend older residents, serve up Christmas dinner and get involved with school holiday activities and there is always room for more people to get involved in projects at the St Matthias Community Centre in Poplar High Street.
