AN URBAN Olympics event at an East End boozer offers competitors who may not be up to the 2012 Games a chance of winning a medal.

The Camel pub is hosting what it believes are London's first Urban Olympics with categories including the stolen bike race, ladies 100m 4 inch stiletto (taxi dash) race, men's 100m (stolen goods) race and a prize for the best comedy sports outfit.

But the pub on Globe Road in Bethnal Green stresses that no laws will be broken during the event which starts at 6.30pm. It is aimed at raising funds for Tourettes Action, a charity which supports people with Tourette syndrome, or multiple tic syndrome.

The pub wants people to enter the races in teams with each team member paying a £2 entry fee. They can register for the event at 6.30pm.
