THERE'S just time to get last minute entries in for this year's Tower Hamlets in Bloom competition.

The deadline for the contest which aims to make the East End blooming marvellous is Friday June 19.

This year's contest introduces a new category Best Newcomer and people are also invited to nominate gardens or hanging baskets which brighten up their day.

The categories include allotment, basket or planted container display, communal residential garden, community garden, education establishment, front garden, wildlife friendly garden, patio balcony or roof garden, public house, restaurant and small business and best newcomer.

All entries must be visible or accessible to the public, except those entering the wildlife friendly gardens and education establishment categories. Each garden can only be entered into one award category.

Application forms are available from Graeme Shimmin, on 020 7364 3929, graeme.shimmin@towerhamlets.gov.uk
