A girl’s school in Tower Hamlets has bucked the national trend with a nine per cent increase in the number of students achieving at least five A* to C grades in their GCSE exams.
Ninety-four percent of pupils at Central Foundation Girls’ School received these grades, up from 85 per cent last year.
The school at College Terrace in Bow also saw a five per cent increase in the number of pupils scoring at least five A* to C grades in subjects including English at Math, up from 61 percent to 66 per cent this year.
Head teacher Esther Holland said: “The school is delighted with this year’s results and they are a reflection of the consistent hard work of students and staff.”
