Actress and writer Meera Syal is opening an East End hospice’s annual Christmas Bazaar on Saturday.
Mrs Syal, best known for her role in comedy sketch show Goodness Gracious Me, is heading down to St Joseph’s in Mare Street at 12pm.
She said: “St Joseph’s provides amazing care for the people of east London and needs to raise a huge amount of money every year to continue its great work. I’m thrilled to be able to help raise vital funds for this wonderful institution.”
Clothes, books, jewellery, toys and bric-a-brac will all be on sale, along with music and entertainment, food and a Santa’s Grotto until 3pm.
