Although the proposals are still at an early stage, officials from the Department from Communities and Local Government, confirmed they will take action to stop 'unfair competition.'
Peter Golds, councillor for Blackwall and Cubitt Town said: "We're delighted by this decision. East End Life is not a newspaper, it is pure propaganda."
Joshua Peck, deputy leader of Tower Hamlets Council, is responsible for overseeing East End Life.
He told the Advertisier: "It's not clear at the moment what the coalition proposal means but there has been an ongoing discussion about the role of East End Life.
