MEET Matthew Kindersley, one of London’s tearaway teenage taggers’ responsible for a wave of graffiti vandalism.

He has been slapped with a night-time curfew for the next three months—including Christmas and New Year—after being caught daubing his Dest’ tag on railway property.

Kindersley admitted two charges of criminal damage and a further 22 incidents to be taken into consideration when he ended up before Westminster magistrates.

“His prolific tagging escapades caused extensive damage to trains and railway property,” said Det Sgt Pete Thrush from the Transport Police special graffiti unit.

“The cost of the damage caused by him and others amounted to £20,000 including cleaning-up and damage to buildings and homes.

“Council officials removed his graffiti and have been working with police to track down this habitual offender to make sure his 'tag' is now permanently removed.”

The court slapped a two-year anti-social order on Kindersley and a curfew banning him leaving his address at Norwood in South London between 8pm and 4am until mid-March.

He is also banned carrying spray paint and other graffiti paraphernalia any time and has to pay £750 compensation for damaging trains.
