East London hairdressers raised cash to fight cancer last Wednesday with an action packed event at the Joshua Galvin Centre.
Wig-wearing tutors and students hosted activities at the training academy in Hollybush Gardens, including face painting, competitions and a cake sale.
The event made almost £400 for Wig Wednesday, a fundraising initiative from cancer charity CLIC Sargent, which works to support young people with cancer.
Academy head, Claire Ensor paid tribute to staff, students and volunteers.
She said: ““As hairdressers, we often come across people of all ages who are losing hair and need our help and support, both in styling their hair while it may be falling out and giving advice about wigs.
“So when we saw their was a chance to raise cash for a charity dedicated to helping children with cancer, we were very keen to get involved.”
Claire added: “We made sure we had something for everyone on the day – from food to hair cuts, fun games to face painting and we had a really positive response from everyone who visited.”
