Residents in the Isle of Dog and Shadwell are being urged to have their say on plans by the council to introduce traffic calming measures.

Under the plans revealed by Tower Hamlets Council, speed bumps and raised pedestrianised paths will be installed on the Isle of Dogs.

The council also plan changes in Cable Street, the road running parallel to Shadwell station, to improve access to the station for cyclists and pedestrians.

This includes a new pedestrian crossing near Shadwell Place and a change of access for cars to turn into Tarling Street from Sutton Street.

Cllr Amina Ali, cabinet member for environment, said: “The main aim of these proposals is to improve safety, while ensuring the changes work for everyone that uses those areas.”

The consultation for the Isle of Dogs proposals is open until January 5 and the one for Cable Street closes on January 18.
