A unique day centre in east London helping brain injury victims recover is getting ready for its 15th anniversary with an open house next month.
Guided tours are planned at Headway East London’s centre overlooking the Regent’s Canal, along with workshops, talks, question-and-answer sessions and live music.
But the highlight is the ‘Towpath’ project, to renovate the bank facing the centre on the opposite side of the canal where a mural is being produced on a derelict strip of ground being landscaped.
A silent auction of members’ artwork is also being held to help raise funds to keep the centre going.
Headway’s event is at Bradbury House in Timber Wharf Block B, 238-240 Kingsland Road, Haggerston, 2-11pm on Saturday, September 29.
