The annual London Open bike polo tournament was held in Bethnal Green Gardens at the weekend, drawing competitors from around the world.
More than 80 teams competed, with an American outfit eventually crowned winners on Sunday after three days of play, which was free for the public to enjoy.
Jess Duffy, from the London Hardcourt Bike Polo Association, said that locals had embraced the sport in the beginners’ sessions on offer.
“It went really well”, she said. “It kind of had a festival atmosphere, and we’ve had such fantastic feedback from members of the public. We had lots of different people visiting the tournament and asking questions about it.”
