A CONFERENCE is being held for parents and experts who work with children with dyslexia.

The event has been organised by the Tower Hamlets based Dyslexia Parents’ Group.

There will be a range of speakers including Alistair Wilson, the head of the Bethnal Green based School for Social Entrepreneurs who will be giving his personal view on dyslexia and there will also be advisory teachers from the Support for Learning Service.

There will also be a presentation by Toe By Toe, which offers a multi-sensory approach to reading which can help children and young people with their reading at the event at the Brady Arts Centre on Wednesday February 2.

The Dyslexia Parents’ Group has been running for three years with help from the Tower Hamlets Parents Advice Centre based in Greatorex Street, Whitechapel and offers mutual support to parents and ideas to help their children.

Maggie Crosbie, parent organiser of the conference said: “It will be a fantastic opportunity for parents to learn, share ideas and feel more empowered.”

The conference starts at 9.30am and finishes at 1pm at the centre in Hanbury Street.
