Eight babies were born at the Royal London Hospital on the same day that the Duchess of Cambridge had her baby —and one little girl arrived just a minute after Kate’s baby boy.

Five boys and three girls were born between 33 minutes past midnight and 8.24pm yesterday at the hospital on Whitechapel Road.

A little girl, who is yet to be named, arrived at 4.25pm —just a minute after Kate had her baby.

A boy who arrived at 4.55pm has been named William Alan Frances, but it is understood there is no royal connection with the choice of name.

Reporter Kay Atwal, who is at the hospital speaking to parents and midwives, said: “The staff noticed that there is a different atmosphere. All the mums are really excited and happy about having had their babies on the same day as Kate.”
