MORE than 20,000 East Enders are likely to be struck with swine flu during a two-week `peak', health chiefs have predicted.

At least 12 per cent of the population of Tower Hamlets are expected to experience swine flu symptoms when the second wave of the virus hits the borough, according to an NHS Tower Hamlets report.

So far Tower Hamlets has had the highest number of swine flu cases in the country, with 12,000 patients suffering with flu-like symptoms and around 2,590 cases reported in the 'peak' week in mid-July.

Experts have warned that a second wave of the virus is likely to be at its peak in London between the beginning of October and the end of November.
