A high-tech interactive pod suspended above a working medical research laboratory in Whitechapel is set to help people learn how to keep their hearts healthy.
Children and adults will be able to take on the role of healthcare professionals by playing games inside the pod that will teach them about their hearts and how their lifestyle choices can affect their health.
The pod is part of Centre of the Cell, the first science education centre in the world to be located within working biomedical laboratories.
Visitors will be able to look down to see scientists at work in the Blizard Institute at the medical school of Queen Mary, University of London, in Newark Street.
Centre of the Cell, an educational and health charity, will also be open to the public for a range of free events and workshops throughout 2013. For more information, visit www.centreofthecell.org.
