Staff and patients at the London Independent Hospital went ‘pink’ for the day to show support for breast cancer research.
The idea was to raise funds for Breast Cancer charity’s focus on Pink Science, a pioneering approach to research that funds projects with the greatest potential to save and improve lives—and ultimately find a cure.
BMI hospital director Kirsty Baker said: “Our staff are proactive in supporting events like this because breast cancer can touch everyone’s life. We hope the money raised across Britain will help further the research.”
The staff at the hospital at Stepney Green, in London’s East End, raised �260 for the charity during national ‘Wear it Pink’ day. Details of ‘Wear it Pink’ and the breast cancer campaign are online at: http://www.wearitpink.co.uk
