Care for people suffering from severe headaches is the subject of a Westminster inquiry to be chaired by MP Jim Fitzpatrick.

The Poplar and Limehouse MP is leading a cross-party group into NHS treatment for “primary headache disorders”, which are estimated to cost the UK economy £2.25billion per year.

Mr Fitzpatrick, who has himself been treated for nervous system disorder trigeminal neuralgia, said: “Headache services in England are patchy and inconsistent. It is vital that sufferers of primary headache disorders have access to appropriate and quality headache services, wherever they live.

“We want to hear from as many people as possible with experience of NHS services in England,” he added.
