Kids’ exercise is being put on ice with a programme teaching them ice-skating in a deal by Tower Hamlets schools with the Canary Wharf businesses.
The programme through the winter months aims to get children in the East End active while building up their confidence on the ice.
It is being run by professional coaches who are also on hand to teach adults when the rink opens to the public on Saturday.
But the kids will have it to themselves while being coached—the rink closes to the public at the times allocated to the programme which is free to schools taking part.
The rink this year features London’s only skate path which leads skaters under trees illuminated with fairy lights and back onto the main rink.
