A man charged yeterday with affray and possessing a sword as “an offensive weapon” in London’s East End is due in court next month.
It follows an incident in Bethnal Green on January 6 when police were called to Hollybush Gardens.
Officers were responding to reports of a man said to be “armed with a machete-style knife” and threatening members of the public, Scotland Yard said at the time. A 31-year-old man was later arrested.
Adam Deacon, 31, from Hollybush Gardens, was charged yesterday with affray and posessing an offensive weapon. He was bailed to appear at Thames Magistrates Court on March 6.
