Medical researchers in Whitechapel offer volunteers £15 for tests

PUBLISHED: 15:47 21 November 2012

Whitechapel-based charity Bowel and Cancer Research is offering £15 to volunteers to take part in a medical research project.

The charity, which has offices at the National Centre for Bowel Research and Surgical Innovation in Newark Street, is funding a study investigating the links between double-jointed people and irritable bowel syndrome.

Scientists need 190 healthy people to act as a control group. Volunteers must be aged 17 to 80 and be free of bowel or stomach problems.

The tests are non-invasive and will take about an hour at the Wingate Institute in Ashfield Street, Whitechapel.

Visit or call Dr Asma Fikree on 0207 8822 647 to find out how to get involved.
