A ceremony for families to remember babies and children who have died is being held on the second Sunday of next month in Whitechapel at the Royal London Hospital.

The service called ‘A Time To Remember’ is a multi-faith and secular event with music, poetry and quiet time for families to remember children they have lost and to be supported by those who have suffered a similar loss.

The Rev David Rushton, hospital chaplain at the Barts Health NHS trust, said: “Some people may not have a place to take their grief and find that coming together allows them to express the loss they are struggling with. One mother said to me after a similar event that it allowed her to face the world again.”

The ceremony is on September 9 in the Old Library in the Garrod building, next to the Royal London Hospital in Turner Street, Whitechapel, at 2pm.
