A new health centre has opened in London’s East End with a walk-in clinic running seven days a week on the site of an old hospital.
The centre is part of the new housing complex at the former St Andrew’s Hospital at Bromley-by-Bow.
It has a walk-in clinic and pharmacy open 8am to 8pm every day of the year, a GP surgery and community services including health visitors, psychology, adult community nursing and diabetes clinic.
One of the GPs, Dr Sam Everington, who chairs NHS Tower Hamlets Clinical Commissioning Group, described it as “an excellent health centre for the people of Bromley-by-Bow.”
St Andrew’s health centre is run by NHS North East London and has been paid for by local government ‘planning gain’ funds from the developers of the site.
