NHS Tower Hamlets has been voted one of the most gay-friendly places in the UK for the fifth year on the trot by an equality organisation.
It was placed among the top 100 employers for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in Stonewall’s study.
Tower Hamlets was the only NHS body in London to be included in the ranking and came fourth overall across the country’s health sector.
The scores are achieved by anonymously surveying staff.
Almost 10,000 lesbian, gay and bisexual employees took part this year and they were among the 378 organisations who nominated themselves for the study.
Tower Hamlets came 54th overall.
Stonewall looked at each company’s equality policy, recruitment and mentoring opportunities.
