Smokers looking to kick the habit are being offered support from Queen Mary University.

With national No Smoking Day being held tomorrow, the university is giving people the chance to participate in trials for new stop smoking treatments.

Director of the university’s Tobacco Dependence Research Unit Peter Hajek, said: “One of the best ways of stopping smoking is doing it as a part of a scientific trial of one of the new stop-smoking treatments.

“Trial participants receive the best care, have an opportunity to try something new, and know they are contributing to the development of a treatment that may eventually help countless other smokers to kick the habit.”
