Care for dementia patients has led to Tower Hamlets Council being shortlisted for a prestigious award.
The council’s project, called ‘improving pathways for people with dementia and their carers’, is in the running for a Municipal Journal Award in the innovation in social care category.
The nomination follows recent progress in improving rates of diagnosis of the disease.
Tower Hamlets Council’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing Cllr Abdul Asad said: “This is fantastic news and recognition of the hard work and dedication of all of the partners involved in this excellent project.”
The winners of the award will be announced at a ceremony on June 20.
