Vulnerable residents of Tower Hamlets are being warned by the council they may face significant disruptions during this summer’s Olympics.
Users of social care services have been told to be aware of the risk of problems with travel, shopping and healthcare this summer.
Tower Hamlets Mayor Lutfur Rahman said: “The Games are an exciting time but we want to ensure our residents are thinking about how they will deal with possible disruptions, especially those who are relied on to provide care and support.”
Those who care for vulnerable adults are also being urged to prepare for disruptions.
Councillor Abdul Asad, lead member for health and wellbeing, added: “We are advising residents who care for an adult to think about how they will travel around and carry out their daily routines now so that they will be prepared for any disruptions during the Games.”
