State of the art leisure facilities will soon be on offer in Bethnal Green, with a full refurbishment of York Hall Leisure Centre due to be completed on Friday (June 15).
The improvements, which have taken eight weeks and cost 250,000, include new gym equipment and refurbished swimming pool changing rooms. The centre has also recently provided training facilities for Great Britain and Spain’s synchronised swimming squads ahead of this summer’s Olympics.
York Hall General Manager, Aaron Peth, said: “The new modern facilities are something to be proud of, while remaining sympathetic to historic nature of the building.
“We aim to encourage more local residents to make use of the sporting and leisure facilities on offer, in this, a vital year for sports across Tower Hamlets and London.”
