President Francesco Becchetti told Hendon news following 3-1 loss to Exeter City this afternoon
It is understood that Ian Hendon has been sacked as head coach of Leyton Orient this evening.
The 44-year-old watched his team suffer a 3-1 loss to Exeter City in League Two and home fans called for him to go throughout the encounter.
It is now believed that the former West Ham United coach attended a meeting with president Francesco Becchetti following the conclusion of the match and he has been relived of his duties.
It is understood that assistant manager Andy Hessenthaler has been asked to take over from Hendon for the rest of the campaign.
The O’s are yet to release a statement but it is expected they will confirm the news at some point this week.
Orient started the season with five consecutive victories in the division, but have struggled for form lately in their quest to achieve promotion this season.
They have slipped to 11th in the table after today’s defeat to the Grecians and tension has been building of late.
It appears the loss this afternoon proved the final straw for Becchetti and Hendon departs Brisbane Road after taking charge last summer.
