Leyton Orient boss Ian Hendon admits it is vitally important his team finish November strongly by beating AFC Wimbledon tomorrow (Saturday).

The Dons make the trip across London to face the O’s at Brisbane Road after a disappointing 1-0 defeat at home to Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday night.

Orient, however, picked up a decent point at leaders Plymouth Argyle and probably deserved to win the match at Home Park too.

It means the east Londoners have taken four points from their last two games and they are keen to make it seven from a possible nine this weekend.

Hendon said: “We always try and look upwards and we get back at home on Saturday and it is important that we get a win against Wimbledon.

“That is the next game so that is what we focus on now. Our match against Plymouth is over. It was a good performance, but that is it now and it’s all about Wimbledon on Saturday.

“It is another London derby. I hope we get a big crowd and it will be a good atmosphere.

“Yet again our fans were fantastic at Plymouth and they were clapping the boys at the end and supporting them all the way through as they usually do.”

Although the Dons were beaten by Daggers this week, their form on the road in general has been impressive this season.

They drew 0-0 at Portsmouth earlier this month and beat Accrington Stanley and York City in high scoring matches during October.

Orient definitely won’t have things all their own way on Saturday, but if they are to take maximum points you suspect Jean-Yves M’voto will play a part.

The French defender has started the last two games and look good since signing a two-month deal prior to the York clash.

He partnered fellow new boy Cole Kpekawa against Argyle and Hendon praised the duo after the 1-1 draw.

“Jean and Cole got an hour together on Saturday and we didn’t have much time to do any work with them at the beginning of the work,” added the O’s boss.

“I thought they done well at Plymouth. Cole is a young lad that has settled in nicely and Jean brings that experience.

“As you can see he is a defender. He heads it, kicks it and does what he has to do so I was really happy with them.”

Hendon was thrilled with the way Orient started at Home Park and praised the performance of his team.

They looked more solid in defence and that’s something he will be hoping continues at Brisbane Road this weekend.

“I think it is important you don’t concede early on. Now if you can get a goal and get in front it is even better. It gives you something to hang on to,” said Hendon.

“We planned on coming to Plymouth and being tight and defending well, which we did for the majority of the game. We limited them to very few chances.”
