Elizabeth Whittaker remembers being part of the ‘Flower Power’ generation back in the Swinging Sixties.

She’s long “retired” from all that now, but plans to relive it all for just one more day in London’s East End.

They’re turning the clock back half-a-century on Friday at Stepney’s Hawthorn Green care home where Elizabeth now lives—back to the Hippie days of her youth.

“The 1960s was a happy time for me,” the 78-year-old recalls. “I like thinking back to the clothes we wore and the music we listened to—especially The Beatles.”

She is joined by fellow care home resident Ron Ballard, 83, who is also planning to relive his heyday on Friday.

The Sanctuary home in Redmans Road, Stepney Green, has a 1960s-theme open day for the public to share with the pensioners, between 11am and 3pm.

The swinging tea party starts 11am, with 1960s retro music performed by Esther Williams. Sounds great!
