TOP film score composer Seanine Joyce is giving a taste of the world of music in the movie industry at a school in London's deprived East End next week.

Seanine, who has composed and orchestrated the scores for several Hollywood blockbusters including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride, is looking in at Bethnal Green's St Matthias Primary, off Brick Lane, on October 6.

The session is part of a 'Close Encounters' programme arranged by Film Club, the after-school club which gives children access to thousands of classic and popular films.

Film Club, which was founded by movie director Beeban Kidron of Bridget Jones' Diary fame and educationalist Lindsay Mackie, offers pupils and teachers "a limitless universe" of film in an informal gathering through weekly screenings, online reviewing and events.

Some 2,000 schools have now joined the nationwide scheme, with 56,000 youngsters already benefiting from films every week aimed at inspiring them.
