HOME secretary Alan Johnson MP visited the Isle of Dogs this morning to hear first-hand from residents about policing in their area.
After a conversation with local officers, Mr Johnson joined local MP Jim Fitzpatrick to take questions covering topics such as terrorism, knife crime and sentencing powers.
Mr Johnson told the Advertiser: "The police in Tower Hamlets are doing an excellent job and are well-supported by local people.
"Coming here to meet people directly is worth a thousand times more than sitting in Whitehall reading reports all day.
