HOSPITAL chiefs have been given a clean bill of health’ in East London for improving their control of infections.
It follows an unannounced visit to Homerton Hospital by the Care Quality Commission, NHS chiefs revealed this-afternoon.
The inspection was made last month to assess whether the Homerton’s NHS trust was able to protect patients and staff from the risk of infections.
The Commission inspectors said in their report: “We found no evidence that the Trust has breached the regulation to protect patients, workers and others from the risk of acquiring a healthcare associated infection.”
The green light’ for The Homerton’ delighted the Trust’s Chief Nurse Pauline Brown, who said it reflected the progress her staff had made to improve infection prevention and control. The inspectors’ report is be available from Friday.
