THE mercy dash’ helicopter that has saved hundreds of lives across London is looking for canvassers to help spread the word and help it meet its fuel bills.

The air ambulance charity needs teams to generate a steady air stream’ flow of cash to keep it flying.

The cost of fuel is soaring higher than the helicopter itself, rising by £55,000 in the past 18 months alone.

The charity service which has its landing pad on the roof of the Royal London Hospital, high above East London’s Whitechapel Road, is having to scrape together £2 million this year to keep going.

So it’s appealing for helpers with ideas to call 020-7943 1302, or go online at London Air Ambulance
