POLICE this-morning are appealing for witnesses after two schoolboys were stabbed in a street fight in East London.

They were called to a disturbance on Saturday night and found a 16-year-old on the pavement in Osprey Close in East Ham with stab wounds in the chest.

The teenager was taken by ambulance to an East London hospital where his condition is described as critical.

A second victim aged 15 was stabbed in the leg during the incident and also went to hospital, but has since been discharged.

Both were at a party when a group of youths turned up and a fight broke out which spilled into surrounding streets, resulting in the stabbings in Dove Approach.

The suspects, described as black teenagers, then made off. Both victims are also black, Scotland Yard confirmed last night.

Det Ins Tony Lynes said: “This was a violent attack that has left a youngster seriously injured.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and in particular anyone at the party which was attended by more than 60 people.”

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area of Neatscourt Road and All Hallows Road around 9pm on Saturday (Jan 9), to call 020-7275 5881, or anonymously Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
