The 26-year-old was attacked near Walthamstow’s Cavern Bar in Forest-road early Saturday morning. She was taken to hospital, where she was later described as being in stable condition.

The woman went to the Bell pub on Friday evening, then the Cavern Bar until the early hours of Saturday.

There have been no arrests so fare and police are keeping an open mind about the motive.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have been in the Cavern Bar or in Falmer-road about 4.20am Saturday to contact Waltham Forest CID on 0300-123 1212, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
