Dear Editor,
I AM trying to trace relatives and descendants for information for a 'Roll of Honour' for the 11th Hussars (Prince Albert's Own) 1939-45 for the soldiers who came from East London.
It is a memorial to the 161 members of the regiment and the two attached personnel who sadly never came back from the Second World War.
Among their number are several who were either born in or their families lived in East London at the time of their deaths. I want to include their details for their entries in the Roll of Honour.
They are Lance Cpl Phillip Hoppe, who died April 25, 1941, age 21, Trooper Kenneth Glover, died April 17, 1945, age 20, Sgt Denis Eadon, died October 20, 1947, age 38, Lance Cpl Francis Bannocks, born West Ham 1919, died July 18, 1944, aged 25, Trooper Joseph Wilkinson, born West Ham 1923, died July 19, 1944, age 21, Warrant Officer Thomas Bowyer, born Southwark 1909, died October 15, 1940, age 30.
