LIMEHOUSE resident Sir Ian McKellen has won yet another award - this time from the Variety Club.
Sir Ian was presented with the Bernard Delfont award for outstanding contribution to showbusiness at the ceremony at the Grosvenor Hotel.
He was given the award by Patrick Stewart who was his co-star in this year's West End hit Waiting for Godot.
Sir Ian supports local groups including City Gateway which offers training to young people in east London and has recorded a Shakespearean sonnet with then.
The awards ceremony will be screened on Channel Five at 3.35pm on Sunday.
