Historic naval vessels from Germany, Canada and France docked in Canary Wharf last week.

German naval tall ship ‘Gorch Foch’ was docked alongside Canadian naval frigate ‘HMCS Iroquois’ and French mine warfare vessel ‘L’Aigle’ for several days, as crews made the most of glorious sunshine this week.

Gorch Foch, built in 1933, had made the trip last Friday to West India Dock from Madeira, before it sailed back to Hamburg on Thursday morning.

HMCS Iroquois docked in the East End after a military training exercise off the coast of Scotland.

The two vessels had an early start on Thursday as they set off from the dock in Manchester Road at dawn with the early morning tide.
