A murder investigation is under way following the death of a woman involved in an incident in London’s East End the day after her birthday, Scotland Yard confirmed this-evening (Wednesday).
Police found 33-year-old Jasmine Choudhury with head injuries when they were called to reports of an alleged assault in Millwall on the Isle of Dogs at 7.30pm on December 17.
She was taken by ambulance from a flat at Stanliff House in Cassilis Road to the Royal London Hospital at Whitechapel—but died on Tuesday. A post mortem examination hasn’t been scheduled yet.
An incident room has now opened at Barking under Det Ins John Nicholson from the Met’s Homicide and Serious Crime Command.
A man arrested on December 17 was held in custody at an east London police station, where he was charged on Tuesday with GBH with intent.
