Young artists Courtney Linford, Lizzie Bellinger, Renel Clarke, Iman Ahmed, Aftarul Islam and Jamie Kennedy were commissioned to produce art inspired by artefacts in the bank’s archives.

The students, aged between 13 and 15 years old, were granted privileged access to examine HSBC’s historical collection, including staff registers and photographs, through the Streets of Growth alternative curriculum programme.

Their artwork is on show during Our Past, Their Future, a week-long exhibition at the bank which ends on Friday.

James McKay, who heads up the provision at the school, said: “It’s great to see how the students have changed and grown over the length of the project. They have made presentations to adult groups and are much more confident.”
