O’s set to take on a Tottenham Hotspur XI and Arsenal XI during July, but Reading cancel proposed friendly

Leyton Orient, as things stand, have a busy pre-season ahead with current boss Omer Riza doing his best to prepare a jam-packed schedule.

Midway through May, the former Arsenal striker announced plans for O’s to entertain Lincoln City (July 18) and Reading (July 29).

Orient were set to travel to Harlow Town on July 11 and Aveley and Dulwich Hamlet on August 1 too.

Unfortunately the fixture with Reading has now been cancelled, but Riza has arranged some other games.

The O’s will now start pre-season with a behind closed doors friendly away to a Tottenham Hotspur XI on July 12.

Orient will then visit Harlow on July 15 – four days later than originally scheduled last month.

Lincoln City are still set to travel to Brisbane Road on July 18, but O’s will send an XI to Burnham Ramblers the same day.

Riza has prepared two games to be played on July 22 with Orient taking teams to Greenwich Borough and Hampton & Richmond Borough.

Three days later and the O’s squad will get more minutes, as one side travels to Dulwich and another visits Hornchurch.

Billericay Town will host Orient on July 29 – their last Saturday game before the start of the National League season.

O’s will end their pre-season with a home fixture against Arsenal’s under-23 team on August 1 and also send a team to Aveley on the same day.

As with before, these games are subject to change with Reading cancelling a friendly previously pencilled in.

With Orient also currently having a squad of just 12 players, more additions are required for them to fulfil this fixture list and compete in the National League.

Owner Francesco Becchetti held talks with two buyers last month, but is still chairman of the Brisbane Road club.
