Orient squad ‘honoured’ to wear commemorative kit reveals Dayton

The O’s will wear a fourth kit, which features the iconic red chevron design with blue shorts and socks, on November 17
James Dayton says it will be a great honour to wear Leyton Orient’s limited edition commemorative kit on Saturday week (November 17) for the National League game at home to Bromley.
Last month, the club announced the fourth kit, which features the iconic red chevron design with blue shorts and socks, would come back for one game and be worn on the weekend closest to Remembrance Sunday.
This Sunday (November 11) is Remembrance Sunday, but with O’s without a match, they will wear the kit against Bromley in a nod to the club’s role in World War One where they were the first English club to sign up en masse.
Clapton Orient had 41 players and staff enlisted and three players Richard McFadden, William Jonas and George Scott were killed in action.

Dayton, who went to watch The Greater Game play alongside captain Jobi McAnuff and Joe Widdowson, on Wednesday, said: “It is a pleasure for me personally, and I am sure for everyone else in the squad, to pull on the Leyton Orient jersey.
“To wear the special commemorative kit on November 17 against Bromley will be a great honour.”

In Orient’s last home fixture, they scored twice from set-pieces with Josh Coulson tapping in after Charlie Lee had a header saved from Dayton’s free kick and Havant & Waterlooville defender Theo Lewis scoring an own-goal from McAnuff’s corner.
The O’s number 11 admitted Justin Edinburgh’s squad have been working on being better from free kicks and corners in recent weeks.
“We have worked on a few things and we have good quality in the team and squad, so when we get set-pieces we need to make the most of them,” Dayton said.
“I don’t think we have made the most of them recently, but it was good to see it pay off against Havant and hopefully we can continue that.”
The 29-year-old also praised the competition for places at O’s, adding: “You have to look at people who have not even made the bench - Matt Harrold and Alex Lawless.
“Our squad is really strong and it is testament to the lads who are keeping themselves in the team.”
